...would be a funny way to lose weight. :)
In all seriousness, I have been thinking and praying a lot as I walk 2 miles every morning and I am certain the Lord is asking me to take the next 3 months and give it all I have. I have been plateaued, playing with the same 10 lbs for 8 months now and I just feel the Lord is asking me to give up more to gain more freedom through weight loss. So, that being said, today is sort of a new beginning...a new surrender. I am tweaking my calorie intake downward a bit while continuing to walk every morning and adding exercise like push mowing, hiking with the kids, bike riding as circumstances allow. I believe this to be necessary step to keep from jumping off the wagon and throwing in the towel. I am actually excited to take this leap and am praying for good results! So...my current weight is going to show the "pounds playing around with while plateauing" and it feels good to have a new a goal.
Our walk with Christ is like that too. Sometimes we need to get out of a routine rut to see what HE is really doing our lives. At times that takes a push out of comfortable nest...other times He shoves us out into circumstances that feel as though they are going to drown us but then like Peter, when he sank into the deep as he walked on water, we need to reach out in trust. (Matthew 14:22-33) Does it scare me to think of giving up more of something I feel comfortable with? Sure it does! But I know the benefits will far outweigh (pun intended...hee hee) the momentary pleasure.
