...mind over platter!
As most of you know, I changed gears this past Tuesday with a renewed plan. I had received an email from Weight Watchers with a 3 month "come back" offer that I couldn't refuse so I used my hat money to pay for it. My plan is to track on both WW and Sparkpeople for the next 3 months so that I get a better idea of what a WW point looks like verses calorie count and I am keeping a spreadsheet of the daily totals for both so that I can compare them. At the end of 3 months I will either have the money to keep going with WW or I will have better knowledge of where to go with Sparkpeople calorie goals.
That being said, over the past 3 days I have found out why I wasn't losing any weight with Sparkpeople. I had been using a link I had found online that was supposedly the answer to using WW without paying for it. Yah...I should have learned by now that nothing is ever free...HA! The past 3 days I found out that I had been eating approximately 150-200 calories more than I should have been eating, which ironically meant that Sparkpeople had my automatic goal set too high for me as well...because the calorie counts I had come up with were within Sparkpeople's goals. I know that weight loss depends on body type, exercise, hormone changes, etc...so I am not faulting Sparkpeople for that.
Now for the weigh in report. In 3 days I lost 1.2 lbs. Yep...I am excited!
This past week was also a reminder once again as to how important to make sure that my heart is where God wants it to be as well. This also means that at times adjustments must be made so that we don't stagnate in our daily growth in grace. Ecclesiastes 9:10 "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. Just as I am giving it all I have to lose weight right now, at the same time I need to daily give God all I have to serve Him and grow in Him so that I can lose more of me and gain more of Him.
Hang in there, my friends. Keep on keeping on. Count it all joy because no matter where we are in daily grind, God has it all in His hands.
