Then Samuel took a stone...calling the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us. 1 Samuel 7:12

...And I Know He Watches Me.

Have you ever given thought to the following: eating habits are a part of how I pursue Christ. It is this simple...If I am seeking Christ first, I will eat in a careful manner, enjoying it as a gift of God.  When our lives are focused on "everything I do should bring glory to God," then my eating needs to bring glory to Him as well and weight loss will be a result of doing just that.

Consider the following passage, Matthew 6:25-33  “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

The following is a quote from my online study for today and it made me think and then get excited:  If our priority is on losing weight, we are sidetracked from what our main purpose should be. But if we focus on seeking Christ first, God will come to our aid and will help us lose weight. Losing weight is a by-product of having correct priorities on a daily basis.

Psalms 42:1-2 "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.  My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
