Bigger Snacks Mean Bigger Slacks

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst, for they are sticking to their diets." ~unknown

I never thought I would ever say this, but I am ready to get back in the Weight Watchers counting points mode.  Yes.  It is true.  I feel so sluggish. I miss the healthy eating routine and structure definitely makes a difference.  While I have been careful, I have gained 4 pounds since November 10th which included anniversary weekend and Thanksgiving so I am trying not to be too discouraged.  I would rather feel more alive and active than not make healthy choices so I am revamping my plan and as of today, I am back to counting points and making wise choices and not waiting until the day after my birthday.  I will survive Jack's birthday, Gotcha day, Christmas, and my birthday while being good.  It is worth it to feel better, if you know what I mean.

One thing this experience has reminded me of is that once I hit my goal (which I still do not know what the final goal will be but my goal for the next year is to weight 200 by December 31, 2013), it will take even more determination to maintain that it takes to lose the weight.  I hate the fact that the sun doesn't come up very early because I haven't been able to walk the many miles that I did over the summer.  Perhaps I need to just go later, walk the same amount of distance I had been, and make the kids go with me.  Did I mention that I really love my QUIET walks?  LOL  Another thing I haven't been doing is drinking my gallon of water per day.  The water in our area is going through some changes with the low river levels and apparently there is more algae in the water that the water plant is having to deal with so our water tastes like dirt.  I kid you not.  Yesterday I decided to delve into our camping bottled water supply that we had stored from a really wonderful sale this past autumn.  I am on my way to drinking my gallon for today.  :)

Thank you for the wonderful encouragement that many of you have been to me.  Yesterday at church a couple of dear ladies said "Look at this skinny mini talking to us" and it was such an encouragement even though I knew i had gained a few pounds.  I was wearing a dress that my friend Tricia York had sent to me and it was little big but I always feel thin when I wear it.  It is a straight fitted dress and I am sure that is why they noticed the weight loss.  I wish all my clothes fit like that...

Keep on keeping on, my friends.  I know many of you reading this are also trying to lose weight or are trying to convince yourselves that you CAN lose weight.   Remember, obedience has rewards.  You can do it!  Keep your focus on Christ and not the pantry.  He is faithful.  He will do it.  The pantry will only make you more sad and depressed in the end.

Woo Hoo!! Love being called skinny mini, too! I decided after my Thanksgiving splurge that it just wasn't worth the pain and discomfort to "eat like a normal person". These are permanent changes for me too!
